A diagnostic lesson finds the gaps

Not the school scheme of work. The actual gaps, for the board and tier your child sits. That becomes the plan for the term.

    60 minutes Every week

Lessons every week, and a note to you after each one

One-to-one over video with a shared whiteboard, at the same times every week. Within the hour you get a short note: what was covered, what went well, what to practise.

What you get

Every week, four things happen.

Every week

A 60-minute lesson at a fixed time

Same slot, same teacher. It goes in the family calendar once and stays there.

Within the hour

A note in your inbox

What was covered, how it went, and one or two things to practise before next week.

Whenever needed

A question answered

Stuck on homework midweek? Send the question. It gets a reply, not a wait until next lesson.

Each half term

A progress check-in

Where your child is against the target grade, what has moved, what the next half term focuses on.

What we cover

The whole specification, from Year 7 to Further Maths.

Not a subject list. The actual strands and topics your child will be examined on, taught to the board they sit.

KS3 Maths

The three years where the gaps open up. We close them before GCSE starts, and build the habits of working that GCSE marks reward.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

Anything else, email info@thetutorsroom.com.

How do online lessons work?

Lessons are one-to-one over video with a shared whiteboard. Your child needs a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a quiet space. Nothing to install: the lesson runs from a link.

Which levels and exam boards do you cover?

Maths from Year 7 to A-Level Further Maths: KS3, GCSE (Foundation and Higher) and A-Level, for AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas and Cambridge.

How do we start?

Two ways. If you know the level, book online: pick your weekly times, one lesson a week or more, pay by card, and lessons start the following week. If you would rather talk first, ask for a free 30-minute call. No card details, and you book afterwards if it feels right.

What if we need to skip a week?

Pause. Nothing is charged for a paused week and your slot is held, for up to four weeks a term. A single missed lesson with 24 hours’ notice is rescheduled instead.

How do I know how my child is doing?

You get a short note after every lesson, and a progress check-in against the target grade each half term.

Can we do more than one lesson a week?

Yes. Pick as many weekly times as you like when you book, each one is the same price per lesson. Extra single lessons in the run-up to exams work too.

Ready? Pick your weekly times. Not sure? Talk to us first.

Booking takes three minutes and the first lesson can be as soon as today. Or ask for a free 30-minute call, no card details, and decide afterwards.
